Went to Batac Ilocos Norte last Saturday to attend a wedding the next day. The house were the reception was held was nearly flooded pero buti na lang medyo mataas yung kinlalagyan at di inabot Carens ko.
I didn't have a choice kundi ituloy ko kasi andun na ako.
Then along Ilocos Sur, may napakalaking butas sa gitna mismo ng daan and it was too late for me to notice it kasi may tubig so ayun, tumama ako sa pothole while I was crusing at around 70 kph. Hay.

Last Sunday while backing up at Nepo Mall in Dagupan, I thought I hit the cement stopper but instead, I hit the square cement foundation of the light post in the open parking lot. Hindi ko muna ito napansin not until I finished my errand and a lot of onlookers were looking at the back of my Carens. Whoever designed the parking lot did not give enough distance between the cement stopper and the lamp post.
I went back to Baguio feeling low and it was when I arrived that it finally sunk in. Nung binalikan ko yung bumper to take another look, bumalik sa original form yung bumper. Wow. And to think that the dent was really bad.
I know that bumpers are supposed to be flexible but I didn't expect our Carens to be very flexible. Anyway, I can still sleep soundly. Minor lang yung natanggal na pintura.

I still remember this sad encounter with a tourist bus that crashed in Marcos Highway last March 6 where 12 people died after attending the visita iglesia in Baguio. I remember overtaking that ill-fated bus at Taloy Sur (it was moving slowly during its descent). Anyway, that was not the accident side. The accident site was near Pugo town in La Union already and I did not get to know of the accident until i read the news. I even joked my wife during our journey that these buses are not really that familiar with Marcos Highway unlike Victory and Genesis buses that ply the road daily.
Anyway, may those victims RIP.
