Ako hindi pa but I make it a point to wait for 1 or 2 mins before turning off the engine especially if I've just come from a long trip.
I think some forumers from tsikot.com who posted in the 2007 Kia Carens thread have installed turbo timers?

anybody here knows where pde magpapalit ng turbo?or may kilala na supplier ng turbo for kia carens?nadiagnose kasi na sira ang turbo ng carens namin and need to change it. do you have idea how much ang turbo and labor na rin?thanks.

Pastorg, try have it fixed either by Bosch diesel center or VW hi precision turbo rebuilding center. I believ that it still can be repaired unless the fan blades or vanes are broken. Bring it to the dealership and have it remove and re-install there. You will need the ecu programming after repairing the turbo. Also for your peace of mind. Good luck. |

 hello newbie lang ako and my carens 4 days pa lang siya sa akin EX silver titanium ask ko lang pano magcompute ng FC at anung maganda petron or shell...thanks hope im welcome here |

First put a tank full of diesel. 2nd you drive, before driving, put your odometer reading to 0. this can be done by pressing the trip meter button long enough to put either trip a or trip b to 0. By the time you reach 100 or 500 kms, put again a tank full of diesel. Ideally, have it done on the same gas station and same gasoline pump bay area. 3rd, get the total number of liters. 4th, divide the number of kilometers run against the number of liters poured in (Km/l). Ex. 500kms / 50 liters= 10 kms /li
You may use any of the two. You may also try Caltex power diesel with techron. You may also try the petron turbo diesel or the shell v-power diesel.

sir thank you sa reply mo,okay po ba yung ginagawa ko pagmalamig na ang aircon pinapatay ko na siya habang nasa biyahe kami ng wife ko.pwedi bang gawin ko lagi yun di ba sya makakasama pagpatay sindi ang aircon..and sir kailangan ba na lagi kong lagyan ng tubig yung radiator.para di siya maginit..sensya na po medyo nagaaral lang ako sa mga mechanical....  |

It is fine to turn off the aircon when you can feel it's cold already. My advise is for you to just set the thermostat control over the right temperature you and your wife are comfortable with. Just always remember to let the turbo cool down after a long, hard, continuous drive by not turning off the engine immediately and allowing around 1-2 mins idle before turning off the engine.
With regards pouring water over the radiator, you don't need to pour so often, in fact, if your Carens is new, you don't need to open it, just always check the reservoir tank and see if the contents are still ok. As much as possible avoid pouring tap water and instead use distilled water if ever there's a need to add water in the reservoir. Opening the radiator cap always would also decrease the life span of the coolant/ radiator fluid when exposed to the environment. Don't worry, our Carens will not overheat, just keep it maintained. It is already designed to take on the Philippine environment/ climate.

sir thank you for the the tips,try ko i post yung carens ko para makita nyo po sir...nag drive ako sa antipolo vice versa to taytay then taytay to makati viceversa to taytay nag compute ako ng fc ko nasa 6.5 k/l okay na po ba yun para sa carens ko...

Once again thak you... GOD BLESS.. Your Carens is automatic right? If you will do some back reading here or in tsikot site, you will see the same fuel consumption. Mine is manual transmission and I average 8-9 kms/li in pure city driving mode and average of 18km/li in pure highway driving mode. Your consumption will somehow improve when you get use to driving your car, as it will adjust to your driving style. Try driving it in long highway stretches while it still new so that the moving engine parts (pistons, valves, etc.) will sit well in its place. |

sir good day
nag praktis asawa ko sa vill. namin paguwi ko tsek ko yung carens namin start ko yung engine tapos may naririnig ako kakaiba or normal lang yun kasi sa driver seat sa aircon vent sa may side mirror may parang ugong ako naririnig.try ko umupo sa tabi ng driver seat naririnig ko parin siya na talagang nangagaling sa aircon vent. sa may side mirror then try ko umupo sa back seat naririnig ko din siya pero mahinang tunog anu po kaya yun normal lang ba para sa bago.para bang tunog ng ref yung parang may maliit na ugong..kailangan ko bang dalhin sa casa.kasi may nabasa ako sa tsikot na may naririnig siya ugong ang sabi sa kanya ng casa na antayin na muna lumakas ang ugong bago i tsek nila uli..nagaalala lang kasi ako parang kasi naririnig ko na nagsasalita yung carens ko na parang umuungol na parang humihingi ng tulong na may masakit sa kanya...hope you can help me at saan kia service center ako pwedi pumunta na.baka kasi maliitin lang ako porke walang alam sa mechanical problem..sorry sir kung marami na akong tanung sa inyo...
