Saw this Carens last week while on my way to Sta. Lucia... It has a new RoofRails. Asked my SA and he told me that new models have this kind of Roof rails. I asked him kung may mabibili na sa kanila but out of stock pa daw. I think this is better than the old one. Parang mas-bagay nya (for me).. Sana may mabiling ganyan sa Banawe.. I'll surely buy one..hehe ;D Medyo malabo ung picture kuha lang sa Phone ko.

This is the type of roof rail I have for my Carens. I don't think I've seen the other ones you're talking about.

At saka tama ka, parang mas okay ang itsura nung dating roof rail. Ang hirap lang sa ating roof rail e halos walang silbi unless na bumili pa tayo ng add on para malagyan ng mga gamit pag naglo-long travel tayo.

The new roof rails as i see it does not have the crossbars yet... malamang mas mura yan... kase kung gagamitin mo talaga yang roof rail na yan, either to mount a bike rack or a luggage pack, you would need the crossbars...

I have a Carens LX and I am also thinking of installing the original Carens roof railing. Found out from Kia Pasig that it costs around 40K++. But when I asked about its stability, they said that they will definitely drill-to-install. Rants are it might not be as 'fixed' as it is in Carens EX (since EX has it in its original factory construction) thus, it might not be as sturdy and that it might be a shakey ride (that you can hear) especially running in high speed.
Can anyone reverse my outlook on this?

If you don't mind, how much did you get this for and which shop? Got the pedal set from Autoline... It's around 2k if I remember correctly... The Headunit I got from an Alpine dealer in Hong Kong, around 40k converted to pesos...

regarding your query on the roof rails sir direk, it is stable even on high speeds (my max speed is about 180kph). but there are usually two concerns about installing the roof rails.
the 1st concern is the carrying load. the casa told me just to be on the safe side to not put too much weight since it was not originally designed to handle the weight. but i have already tried about 30kg+ load with no problems even on high speeds.
the 2nd concern is leaks due to the drilled holes which is the biggest concern in my opinion. just make sure you and the casa have an understanding of what they will do in case the problem arises. put it in writing just in case.
