I know this is old news but hey, I just read this so... I've read that the diesels being offered here in Pinas is only euro 2 compliant and that only 'Seoil' is offering euro 5 compliant diesel. prior to learning this facts, I am aware that our diesels here are not the cleanest. basically, crdi likes clean diesel so euro 5 compliant diesel is 'good' BUT seaoil's diesel also has 1% coco biodiesel. The carens manual says (not sure, i just remember reading it somewhere) the carens can handle biodiesel up to 5% blend (B5). all the articles i have read so far indicates that the euro 5 compliant biodiesel of seoil (not particular with the brand) is best for our carens BUT I failed to find anything official from Kia to support this. Has anyone of you guys here been using seoil's diesel (or any biodiesel) on a regular basis? your thoughts guys? take note, more than biodiesel itself, I'm interested to know if it is really just seaoil offering euro 5 diesel...how big of a deal is it? forgive me if this is old news

I think Seaoil is the only company that offers it (just correct me if Im wrong). There are threads in Tsikot which you might find useful. Sayang walang Seaoil dito sa Baguio

thanks sir hanren for the link. now if indeed seaoil's IS the cleanest dieseld here, seeing that the price is competitive (sometimes among the lowest) with that of the other players, why is it not as popular as the big 3? Is it because most are still afraid of bad effects of biodiesel? I want to try this in our carens, but I can't find an official article from kia-hyundai that says its safe. heck, I will scan the manual tonight, if I see it mentions biodiesel being safe, I will try it some more articles: www.biofuels.com.ph/biodiesel.htmlwww.biodieselblog.com/cocobiodiesel.blogspot.com/

Has anyone here tried using seaoil biodiesel??? Kumusta naman ang takbo ng carens nyo??? Haven't tried it pero curious din ako.. I tried searching the net about this pero wala rin ako mahanap. Most likely wala pa rin nakatry na mga forumers dito pero yung mga iba most likely. May nakita akong black Carens minsan sa Flying V sa may Marcos Highway Pugo La Union magpapa karga. I don't know if gas or diesel version yon but the diesel they are offering at Flying V there is biodiesel.

hmm... my first full tank (with seaoil) netted FC of only 8.6 km/li one of the lowest figures I got. My route is san pedro to ortigas taking the c5-slex (occasionally edsa-slex) . Well, slex driving can't be considered highway driving really, what with the choke point at bicutan skyway construction. During that time also, c5 traffic is quite heavy. Also during this time I've been sprinting at 140-160 whenever I can. With the improvement in c5 traffic and with me coming to work earlier to avoid traffic. I'll find out if FC will improve on my 2nd full tank. Also, I will try and contain my speed to 100. There really is an improvement in power (or could be imagination.. im not really sure

meron na po bang nag try ng 100% biodiesel? from what i've read, 100% biodiesel is not bad for the engine itself, the biodiesel is bad for the fuel line (hoses, etc.) since biodiesel can make the hoses brittle. kung meron po kayong alam ng nagbebenta ng 100% biodiesel, pa post naman, gusto ko i-try unti unti e.g. 5%, 10%, 15% mix

update: 11.3 km/li on my 2nd full tank. I am beginning to think that the FC has little (if not nothing) to do with the fuel but rather with my driving and the traffic condition. lately mas light ang trapik sa c5 and i've been trying to limit my speed to 100-120 km/h (pero hindi rin masyado, mahirap magpigil eh . at "parang" totoo ang imagination ko na mas malakas nga hatak I think I will continue filling up with seaoil for a while. yun lang po

Twice na ako nagpakarga ng seaoil dito sa bacolod, but feeling ko medyo mausok carens ko, i might try using petron and see kung ano ang takbo ng carens ko, kasi ive been using shell since i bought my carens.
