I don't know how it happened but I just read it in today's (December 8, 2008) Philippine Star Ads (pages A38-A39, yes full double full page ad ito). Congratulations Carens and to all Carens owners, Carens enthusiasts, and Carens admirers! May mga skeptics man, hindi pa rin maikakaila na nagiging positive ang tingin ng auto industry sa Kia products. The numerous awards given to Kia Carens validates the different awards it has won this year and the previous year!!!   ;D |

Actually, I stayed on 'til midnight of Nov. 30 to witness how the votes for the Carens will end. A bit surprised, kasi lumamang ang starex ng 300 votes around 10:30pm then biglang less than 100 na lang by 11pm. Though the online voting showed the Starex won by 84 votes, I was still hoping a miracle will happen. Kasi from what I understand, there was also "live" voting during any Autofocus Motor Show events, the last one was at The Fort from Nov. 25-Dec.1. The votes during that event was not included (yet) in the online voting that we witnessed. I guess, our Carens garnered enough votes to eventually win the coveted Autofocus 2008 People's Choice Car of the Year!
Congratulations to our Carens!!!

Well, I had to eat my words, humbly speaking. I just got frustrated kasi i (or even most of us) thought that the voting last Nov 30 was the last set of votes to be included. I didn't mind that the votes of Carens was eaten up bit by bit ..sabi ko nga baka binibilang pa lang at sinasama yung mga votes sa BPI, on site votes ,etc. But what really got my goat was when Starex suddenly grabbed the lead, not by tens or twenties, but by hundreds.. Anyway, all's well that ends well.. That's how passionate we are with our Carens... Alam ko maraming mga silent heroes na taga dito at hindi taga dito. I saved the newspaper ad kung saan automobile of the year ang Carens... yun na lang ang trophy ko |
