Just an update.
I went to Signet yesterday to have the foglamp and tint installed in my Carens and have 15K PMS. Francis gave me an update on the alarm. Winterpine will replace it using the Picanto alarm. I wanted to see the alarm first before making any decision. I don't like the Picanto alarm! No offense meant to Picanto owners but the fact that it doesn't have silent function and it looks like a remote for RC cars, made me decide not to accept their offer!!! According to Winterpine, they don't have stock of the Carens alarm so they'll replace it with the Picanto. Syempre ayoko!!! I'll just wait for a better alarm since I can still use the spare remote. But they have to hurry since this is already more than 1 month already.

Thanks for the update Mam bingski. Well, since that last (weird) incident I described here there the alarm on our carens is doing good. The brand is AVT.
OT: how much did it cost you to have the foglamps installed at signet? Where is the switch, the same location where the headlight switch is?

Just now I spoke with Francis of Signet. According to Winterpine, they cannot replace the alarm because the distributor of that brand doesn't hold office in the Philippines anymore... weird diba. They'll just replace my alarm with a different brand with the same functions and doesn't look like a toy  About the foglamp, I actually don't know yet since I will get my unit on Friday morning pa. Will take picture and post here. |

Weird naman..that doesn't mean that just because they don't hold office here in the Phils that they can also neglect their responsibilities..
Mam bingski..I inquired at Kia Pangasinan about the foglamps and they discouraged me to have it installed on my LX because the check engine light would appear daw kasi hindi nakaprogram sa LX yung foglamps..hmmm...

OT: With my last conversation with Francis of Signet, he said they have installed a couple of LX units with foglamps from EXs. Wala naman daw problem, kasama daw sa package yung switch assembly na kagaya din sa EX meaning integrated with the park light/headlight. Tinatanong ko lang kay Mam Bingski to confirm.
I was planning to have one installed back then but they don't have it on stock.

My alarm has been replaced already, buti naman. Also my fog lamp was also installed. Will post the picture on the other topic.. sa modifications po.

Asking around, here are the prices I got:
Kia Alabang - 12500
Signet - 10500
Kia Pasig - 9900
All prices are inclusive of parts and labor, all original Kia parts. I had mine installed at Alabang just because they are the ones who has one on stock when I asked around. After showing them the prices of Signet and Kia Pasig, they gave it to me at 10500.

if ever sira na mga factory alarm nyo and out of warranty... just get a new one (cobra brand) mga P1,600 lang sa suki ko sa banawe (autofriend marketing, n.roxas st. near cor. banawe -- between BDO bank and GTD tire store).... good quality alarm lalo na ngayon yung mga remote transmitter may kasama picture display ng oto na nagbi-blink ang parklight sa drawing mismo... parang hi-end.
kung gusto nyo rin meron alarm with remote start (para paglabas nyo sa house or papunta pa lang sa parking eh warm up na oto nyo at malamig na aircon)... mga P2,800 lang bili ko a few years back pero im sure mga ganun pa din price nowadays...
