Guys, just want to clarify re egr, yung egr pala ay what they call EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION, they dont re-program it, yung gagawin pala nila ay they will clean or replace it, what they did with my carens is they cleaned it kasi daw yung egr valve ay nag stuck causing nitrogen oxide to build up, rough idle and poor acceleration are the causes of a faulty or dirty egr.

Just got home this morning, grabe....nakakapagod din ang byahe, i took the 12:30am cebu pacific flt from shanghai to manila, arrived manila 4am and then took the 8:50am manila to bacolod flt.
Anyway, when i arrived, test drive ko agad si carens, laki ng improvement, quicker acceleration (nawala ang turbolag), and also nawala ang usok...kaya guys and gals, if you ever experienced like mausok and mabagal na acceleration, have your egr check.

good to know that the EGR mechanism/system is at fault.... i find it really helpful so we can be aware....

san po ba nakalagay ang egr ng carens? Yung ibang models near the head.

My carens is beginning to be sluggish again, but compared to the previous incident, di naman mausok, but parang di lng sya responsive when you step on the gas pedal, ipapasok ko yung car ko next wk for my 15000kms PMS. They cant diagnose kung ano ang problema ng carens ko kasi they have no diganostic computer sa casa, nag order pa daw sila and they dont know kung kelan dadating pa dito...hayzzz. And also, sabi ng SA na may babarayan pa daw ako if they use the computer to diagnose may carens, my carens is nearing 2yrs pa lang, d bah under warranty pa ito and i dont have to pay a single cent?
Anyway, meron din bang kinalaman ang brand ng fuel sa pagiging sluggish ng carens ko? kasi dati we are using SHELL diesel and this past dalawang fill-up ay gumamit kami ng SEAOIL biodiesel. Ibabalik ko nga muna sa SHELL sa next fill-up ko and observe ko na lng.

Does anyone else think there is an inherent problem with Carens 2007 turbo charger? Mine failed right after the 3rd year. And again after 1 year with the replacement turbo charger (a free replacement part from KIA), the same problem happened.
I have also a friend who bought his carens a couple of months ahead of me and had a similar experience. According to him, he learned from other mechanics that we should avoid revving the engine prior to turning it off to ensure the turbo is receiving equitable oil flow relative to its instantaneous power.
Is there truth to this advice? Anybody else have this issue?

Totoo yan. Ngayon lang kasi ako naka-login dito pagkatapos ng mahabang panahon. Kasi nung last time e di maka-pag post kung di sasagutin yung mga letters/numbers na kailangan e tama bago tanggapin ang posts. Ang problema e mahirap hulaan yung ibang mga letters/numbers.
Anyway, ang diesel engine e hindi nire-revolution bago patayin ang makina di katulad ng gasoline engine. Ang kailangan nga nito e palamigin muna ang turbo-fins bago patayin ang makina ng mga 3-5 mins bago i-turn off ang engine. Kung natin gagawin ito e baka mabungin ang mga turbo fins at di na gumana ang ating turbo-charger.
