Hi fellow Carens lovers! Just want to compare notes; My EX A/T shifts gears at ff speeds per speedometer readout: 01-09, 1st Gear; 10-29, 2nd Gear; 30-69, 3rd Gear; 70- up, 4th Gear!!! With my other car with M/T (5-speed), I usually shift at speeds lower than the above to conserve fuel since I was led to believe that low rpm meant low FC. I usually shift to 4th at 40km/hr and 5th at 60km/hr. Questions: a) Don't you think 3rd gear speeds are too high? b) Can we ask the Carens Service technicians to adjust the "Shift Gear system" to lower the 4th Gear shifting speed???

Mr. Bluebird, can I ask you to post your Carens' picture in our "Members' Gallery". Mine is the only one posted there and I am starting to feel lonely there. Perhaps if you add yours other members would be enticed to post theirs.

Questions: a) Don't you think 3rd gear speeds are too high? b) Can we ask the Carens Service technicians to adjust the "Shift Gear system" to lower the 4th Gear shifting speed??? yours is better. mine is lx a/t. 01-19, 1st Gear; 20-39, 2nd Gear; 40-69, 3rd Gear; 70- up, 4th Gear!!! I agree with you. 3rd gear is too high. for me, the ideal speed for 4th gear is a min of 50kph for a 4 a/t. I have talked to my sales agent re the adjustment, but they are not aware of any tweaks to modify the setting. I am not sure if the shifting changes with the distance travelled. before, when it hasn't run 3500 km, it would go to 4th only at 80kph. now my odo is around 3658 km.

01-19, 1st Gear; 20-39, 2nd Gear; 40-69, 3rd Gear; 70- up, 4th Gear
I get the same shift points. That's the earliest I can get it to shift up using D and manual mode (except for 2nd gear, which you can use from full stop using the manual mode).
Using 2nd gear to get the car moving doesn't feel right though. To me, the engine is too "weak" to start from 2nd.
Hindi ko nga maintindihan, impression ko sa diesels dapat kaya dahil yung mga bulok na jeep 2nd gear na kaagad ginagamit instead na 1st. Or baka mali logic ko, hehehe

Same observation here.. don't the know the reason behind but I tried moving on 2nd gear mahina nga at minsan namamatay pa ang makina dahil di nya kaya.

At 2nd gear, the car starts slowly so the tyres do not skid.
