Before we decided on getting the Carens, here are the top choices we considered:
1. X-trail
2. Carens
3. Sportage/Tucson
4. CR-V
5. Carnival

Sir Barzee...masipag ka yatang mag post today...dami mong post..
Sportage talaga ang 1st choice ko... I Change my mind ng makita ko si Carens.

Ako ang original na balak ko e Honda CR-V, pero nagmahal ang gasolina kaya sabi ko tignan ko ang bagong Chevrolet Captiva CRDI, pero medyo mahal kaya hinintay kong lumabas ang Nissan Grand Livina. Ang problema lang e wala silang unit noon na puwedeng ma-test drive at ayaw ko ng sagot sa akin ng Sales Agent na maraming bumibili ng Livina na di na sinusubukang mag-test drive; kaya sabi ko sa sarili ko "ano sira!!!".. Tapos napadaan ako sa Kia Marikina at nakita ko doon ang Urban Gray na Carens at nang pumasok ako sa loob e na-impress ako ng quality ng interior at saka feel ng mga accessories...mamahalin ang dating at naalala ko yung kauna-unahang Mercedez E300 ko.
Kaya eto sana ang line up ng mga choices ko:
1. Honda CRV
2. Cherolet Captiva (CRDI)
3. Nissan Grand Livina
4. Carens

i dont have a carens but the following cars are what iwere considering before narrowing down to my favorite: 1. xempre Carens una.  2. Hyundai Tucson (CRDI) 3. Innova na diesel 4. ford everest na dsl dn 5. livina |

In order of preference 1) Honda civic 2) Hyundai Getz 3) Hyundai Tucson 4) Carens We only considered the carens after reading countless good reviews about it (in other countries). We ended up buying the carens after test driving it and seeing some good reviews (and feedback) at tsikot.com (and other local forums). Our carens is now 11 months old and still drives as good (if not better) as when we first got it. She has proven to be quite tough (with some scars to prove it  ) OT: I only discovered this wonderful forum. I'm an old timer at tsikot although I'm just a lurker most of the time It's interesting how the carens/rondo population/interest have grown (both here and abroad) in a span of 1 year (when we first heard that there is such a car named.... carens). Again, nice community/forum you got here. regards to all! |

I also considered: Tucson = di kaya ng budget ang CRDi version New Corolla Altis - not another sedan (previous cars were all sedan) Sportage - A/T lang meron Innova /Avanza- hmmm too common Strada/Ranger - walang lalagyan ng groceries (  ) and Chery Tiggo - the price is right but ... Carens - lahat ng hindi na meet ng above nakuha ko. |

Tucson CRDi -> budget Captiva -> BUDGET! Fuel Consupmtion Sportage -> Mabagal lalo na yung automatic hehehe Mitsubishi Lancer -> Pogi points lang walang add-on feature na useful (i.e. di mo pwede kargahan ng TV hehehe) |

1. santa fe kaso di kaya ng budget
2. Carens papsok sa budget till nag increase pero kinaya p din
3. Tucson CRDI like ko ang itsura pero kulang sa seats for us
4. Sportage mas ok kesa sa tucson out n din sa budget

Given the budget of P750k back then, I was seriously considering the Honda Civic or the Mazda 3, since I already have a Mitsubishi Spacewagon (7 seater) for family trips.
Until I saw the Carens at a Motorshow in WTC last 2007.
