Hi, I left the JVC remote control on top of an opened can of California Scents (Coronado Cherry flavor) for a while. Next thing i noticed the following morning is that a part of the remote control in contact with the pads melted away. It looked like the remote control was placed in a burner. Pero hindi naman mainit sa loob since it was already dark at overnight lang siya. May mga gooey material na naiwan sa isang pad na galing sa remote. I took a picture of it but I still have to post it here later. I just though that if this could happen to a plastic - how much more sa mga nakakalanghap ng scent? Ano kaya yung malakas na chemical dun? Anyway, I already took away the can. May chemical reaction kaya na nangyari?

Its look like a solvent or alcohol content of California scents ang nagpatunaw sa plastic. Almost all of the gel or liquid type scenct ay mayroong alcohol to evaporate the scents. kaya mas OK gamitin ang oil type scents. problema lang namumuo siya kapag natapat sa ACU duct. Na experience ko rin ang ganyan. Napatakan ng konti ang head unit ko... nag fade kagad hanggang nag color white na.

I think same thing happens pag yung mga liquid type air fresheners like yung Glade Sport, sa isang friend ko kase natapon yung Glade Sport nya sa dashboard nya, and instant reaction nya was to just wipe it with a rag, pagkakita nya next morning may white spots na sa dashboard nya ang parang may mga natunaw na parts nung dsahboard....

Baka yung alcohol nga. But i don't know the risks involved in inhaling alcohol. Inisip ko nga I'd let the original Carens smell permeat muna. Halos lahat ng mga pwedeng gamitin car freshener may puwedeng ibigay na problema (

sa alam ko components ng mga fresheners kahit liquid or solid base is mostly made of some type of alcohol (for liquid) or naphthalene / dicholorobenzene (for solid) to spread the smell, essential oil which gives the smell, and some sort of binder to bind the two together since they don't mix. maliit yung chance na alcohol yung problema kasi it cant melt plastic. so probably yung binder na ginamit nila kasi usually its a strong acid or base. both of which can melt pretty much anything pagmataas yung concentration. fyi lng din, inhalation of alcohol is not bad provided its not concentrated. ingestion nga will not harm you basta low concentrations. highest alcohol content sa mga inumin is around 75 percent or 150 proof tulad ng absinthe (this might sound familiar from the famous eurotrip movie).

sa akin naman, my kid accidentally replaced my ambi-pur bottle upside down. the following day, I noticed some fragrant oil trickling down the right-middle aircon vent...yung oil ang nag tanggal nung gray color sa dashboard sa ilalim lang nung aircon vent. parang thinner ng paint.... kaya ayun, bagong-bago noon carens ko, may discoloration na sa dashboard. ingat sa paggamit ng ambipur
